Irving David read law at the London School of Economics and subsequently trained with a leading London entertainment law firm, Wright & Webb.
After qualifying, he joined Warner Brothers and became their UK Head of Legal and Business Affairs.
In 1981, together with his colleague, Vivian Wineman, he formed David Wineman which, in 2008, merged with DFM Beckman to form DWFM Beckman.
Over many years, he has built up an impressive roster of clients which reads like the Who's Who of the entertainment industry, representing countless promoters, impresarios, managers, agents, dancers, classical and popular recording artists, composers, songwriters, record labels, music publishers, games developers and film, television and record producers.
He advises Scottish Ballet and the British Ballet Organization; is a board member of the internationally-acclaimed Orchestra of the Swan; a full voting member of BAFTA, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts; gives frequent Master Classes for the Music Managers Forum and the Music Publishers Association; and contributes regularly to various trade publications including Dance UK News and Dancing Times on legal and commercial issues relevant to music and dance.
