Elizabeth is a partner in the Litigation/Dispute Resolution Department. Her wide-ranging practice covers commercial matters, both contentious and non-contentious, many in the media and property sectors and often with international dimensions.
She is an experienced litigator in the High Court, County Court and Employment Tribunal. She recognizes the value of Alternative Dispute Resolution and encourages mediation at both senior and junior executive levels. She advises on intricate financial and contractual issues, the dissolution of partnerships and the restructuring of companies, director and shareholder disputes, professional negligence claims and general breach of contract and restraint of trade matters.
Elizabeth also has many years experience in licensing law, representing bar owners, restaurateurs and hotel proprietors.
She handles licence applications for both premises and personal licences, appeals (including residents objections to licence applications for extended hours) and smoking restrictions. She is well-versed in the practicalities of the management of licensed premises and arranges seminars and one-to-one and group training sessions for personal licence holders, both at the firm and in-house at clients' own premises.
She is known for giving both practical and insightful advice and for her commitment to her clients.
The non-contentious element of Elizabeth’s practice in employment and commercial law include advising on and drafting restrictive covenants, contracts of employment and handbooks and advising generally on issues within the workplace including disciplinary policies and procedures.
Elizabeth is a member of the Professional Committee of the Variety Club of Great Britain.
